synopsis
A birthday dinner at a favorite restaurant sets the stage for one family’s journey through past, present, and future—simultaneously. As time unravels in three directions, long-buried secrets emerge, laughter mingles with regret, and the true cost of happiness is revealed.

WHEN: Sunday, January 18 @ 7pm and Tuesday, January 20 @ 7pm
You only need to attend one of these two dates.
Callbacks, if necessary, will be Wednesday, January 21 @ 7pm
WHERE: Village Theatre Guild of Glen Ellyn, located at the corner of Park Blvd. and Butterfield Road.
WHAT: This is an “Open Call” audition. No appointment is necessary. This is a non-equity, non-pay production.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be posted on the VTG Website. All those auditioning are asked to provide a resume of their onstage experience and must produce a list of all potential conflicts including travel. Any conflicts will be discussed with the Producer and agreed to by the Director before casting can be confirmed.
The play takes place in London and we will be exploring English accents.

Friday and Saturdays – March, 20, 21, 27, 28, April 3, 4, 10, 11 at 7:30 pm
Matinees – March 22, 28, 29 and April 11 at 2:00pm
setting/roles/character descriptions
Calvinu’s restaurant, the Essa de Calvi, in an upscale London neighborhood.
Gerry – Male, 50ish.
Successful self-made businessman, but has some flaws
Laura – Female, 50ish.
Supportive wife, but can also hold her own. Sophisticated, matriarch of the family.
Glyn – Male, 20’s-30’s.
Their oldest son. Expected to take over family business. Charming, but not driven.
Adam – Male, 20’s-30’s.
Their younger son. Apple of Laura’s eye. Nervous, uncertain, only wants to please his mother.
Stephanie – Female, 20’s-30’s.
Glyn’s wife. Slightly worn down, thought she was marrying up. But there is hope for her in the end.
Maureen – Female, 20’s-30’s.
Adam’s girlfriend/fiancée. Artsy and fun, first time meeting the family.
Calvinu, Tuto, Aggi, Dinka, Bengie – Male, 20’s-50’s.
Various staff at Calvinu’s restaurant. Played by the same actor. Each have distinctly different personalities,
